The carrot family was walking across the street when all of a sudden a car came around the bend and struck Mrs. Carrot. The ambulance came and took her to the hospital, where there was 20 hours of emergency surgery. Mr. Carrot and the Carrot Twins were inconsolable in the waiting room, impatient for any news about their wife and mother.
The doctor finally comes out of the operating room and greets the family. “Do you have any news, Doctor? How is my wife?” pleads Mr. Carrot.
“Well, she’ll live,” said the doctor, “but she’ll forever be a vegetable.”
